Add album biographies from last fm.

Feature description:

Just like artist biographies, last fm also has album biographies. It would be nice to see this in Symfonium.

Problem solved:

It could be an easy alternative for albums without description tags.

Brought benefits:

It adds extra information about an album.

Other application solutions:

Oto Music has implemented this.

Additional description and context:

Screenshot one is the last fm album biography for Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers as shown in Oto Music. So something like this would suffice.

I would love to see this implemented as long as it doesn’t get rid of existing description tags

Ironicallyive been copying info like this into a synopsis tag for some albums & I sometimes grab extra lore for tracks. Both these bits of info end ip in my descriptions with a heap of other info. So my only question would be does this show instead of my tagged description or could users possibly have both shown in the app?

I’d hate ro have to choose one over the other but i can understand not being able to display both. In those cases i may import the music & copy that info to my tag

Example of my descriptions

How do you edit that tag? I never found a way to

I’m using MP3TAG & i just have a tag field DESCRIPTION
I always make sure every track on the album has the exact same description tag but I believe if one track on the album has the description tagged and the others are blank it would still appear in symfonium (at least for local provider). If you have tracks that have different descriptions it may or may not appear in the app.

There’s a chance this doesn’t work on all providers so you may have to test & see or check the wiki / documentation for whatever provider you are using to see how DESCRIPTION is handled

I’d prefer for it to be a selectable item in the about row right next to description so that you can choose which one to show. Also does MP3 tag have a mobile app?

To my knowledge MP3TAG is desktop only (MAC & Windows)…killer software (very powerful) & its free
