Abort failed playback request with popup when media source is unavailable

Feature description:

Would like an interactive notice and abort request to popup when attempting to play an item who’s source if unavailable.

Problem solved:

Currently when I attempt to play an item that is unavailable(because the source media player(plex on home NAS) if offline/unavailable/vpn-off/etc, the player goes into an infinite hung state(spinning circle). I have not been able to abort that hung state, since the pause and other controls don’t work when hung. Currently to get out I have to enable my vpn and than the music starts playing, at which time I can than pause/abort playback. Would be nice if app produced a popup that said source was offline and give the option to abort the play back attempt.

Brought benefits:

Having a pop up would give the user clear feedback as to why the play attempt is hung(spinning circle). The popup would also give the user the ability to abort the failed playback attempt in a clean and understandable method.

The media does not start when the provider is offline and it auto stops on failure after a few attempts.

So your issue is something else, please provide logs and details when it happens.

Hi Tolriq, I am unable to reproduce the situation which caused me to created this request. In all my subsequent testing the offline media(plex) was always correctly listed as offline and playback never even starts as expected by design. So please go ahead and tag this as you see fit in your tracking system. Thank you
