There is a bug using the dark layout, on places where the application is supposed to use a dark text over a light background, it uses a light text color over a light bg, making it unreadable (like the “buy” button on top of the settings page, or the message box with the sync progress when you click “sync” on the source filter).
It seems to be a little bit random. The text color is always wrong just after changing the interface colors however.
My color settings is “system light/dark” and the color source is “Default”.
When the color source is “personnalized”, the bug is still there.
The colors of the tooltips appearing when you long press some buttons are also with a very bad constrast between text and bg. (like the buttons “mix” “shuffle” “play now” “add to playback queue” on albums or playlists pages) But it doesn’t seems to be the same issue, as those colors are a little bit different.

(the tooltip screenshot is a reproduction using photoshop, I don’t want to search how to take screenshots of a tooltip)
Reproduction steps:
On a phone with Android 10, and the overlay of Xiaomi MIUI 12.5, activate the dark theme of MIUI.
Install Symfonium. Then you may experience the text color issues explained there.
I don’t know how to reproduce it on someone else’s phone. On mine, it have been there since I installed Symfonium. My phone is on Android 10, MIUI 12.5. It goes away if I activate the light theme globally on MIUI, the issue is only with the dark theme of MIUI. So it may be related to a MIUI bug? Is the Symfonium app using a system color?
Maybe some more useful insights: when I click “sync” on the source filter, the progress text is very briefly (0.2s) in the right color. It is then written “Préparation de la synchro” (“Preparing for synchro” in english). Then it appears white.
Ok, thanks anyway.
I tried to create a custom theme. It didn’t fix the issue. I even tried to choose saturated colors very different from each others in order to find the right one to edit. And dark colors everywhere too. But there is still a light text color.
You use transformation functions on some colors in order to tweek them, no? Because when you create a custom text with dark text and dark background everywhere, the sections title still use a light color.
Ok, thanks a lot. I’ll stop bothering you with this. Especially because my phone is a little bit old now, so even if you would find a fix from Symfonium, it’s probably a bug for only 0.00001% of users.
I guess that MIUI automatically turn dark text into light one when the dark theme is active. So I can choose a darker “primary” color in Symfonium, and then at least I can read the text
I finally found a fix : there is a settings in MIUI to disable the dark theme for individual apps. And there is a setting called “Auto adjust text and backgrounds” which can be turned off. Both solutions fix my issue.
