Synchronization problems on RS520

Issue description

Hello,

I need help with a library synchronization issue. I am using a Hi-Fi Rose RS520 streamer with a 4TB internal SSD. My entire library - 3,558 tracks, consists exclusively of FLAC files.

The Problem:
The sync process is very unstable and extremely slow. It starts by indexing a couple of dozen tracks per minute, but then it completely stops for a while before starting again. Because of these constant interruptions, it took more than 12 hours to index only 1,200 tracks.

What I’ve tried:

  • Set the app battery optimization to “Unrestricted” (no effect).
  • Disabled “Scrape additional metadata” and “Generate missing thumbnails”.
  • Verified that both devices are on the same stable network.
  • I started over: completely uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. I checked that the library on the device itself was OK.
  • I tried the same thing in another application - BubbleUPnP, everything works quickly and without any problems.

My setup:
Phone: Samsung S26 Plus
Source: Hi-Fi Rose RS520 (Internal SSD via SMB v2/v3), with latest firmware.
Library: 3558 100% FLAC files.

It feels like the connection or the scanner is “stalling” after a short burst of activity. I have attached my debug logs to help you identify the cause.

Steps to reproduce

  • Install Symphonium on your device (phone)
  • Configure a connection to the streamer with the library via SMB 2/3
  • Wait for the sync process. It usually happens quickly, but then stops after reaching the first couple hundred tracks.

Your server timeout, check it’s logs, probably some kind of leaks there.

I don’t know what are you talking about. I also tried to connect throgh a WebDav and it doesn’t work at all.

On another app - BubbleUPnP, everytrhing works just fine! This is frustrating because i was suggested to try a Symphonium as a superior app for controlling my streaming amp.

You compare oranges and apples … Bubble use UPnP not SMB …

The device Symfonium is scanning stop answering, there’s not much I can do on my side.

Provide logs with WebDav to see what they are doing too.

Okay, after the third reinstallation of the app, the library sync finally completed successfully. However, it took a very long time. I’ve submitted the debug logs directly through the app. Could you please review them to see if everything is working correctly and why the process was so slow?

I just told you the issue is your server that stop answering after some times to SMB requests. Reinstalling the app clears the cache, so each time you do a full sync instead of only the unscanned files.
