Smart flow issues/questions

Issue description:

  1. It hardly ever plays tracks that are part of compilations (various artists). I know Plex has some issues with how these were originally configured, as Plex sees “Various Artists” as a single artist. However, I’ve noticed that I rarely get any tracks from VA when using Smart Flow. Also, when it plays VA tracks, it’s usually when it’s an exact match of another track which is related is related to issue 3 below.

  2. When Echo Match has been playing for a while, it starts to repeat tracks over and over again, then eventually starts working correctly for a bit, before repeating the issue later.

  3. Echo Match sometimes plays the same exact track twice. For example, if a track appears both on an album and as part of a playlist, it will play both versions back-to-back. I understand that it’s technically doing what it’s designed to do, but I think these duplicates should be excluded

What settings for 1? The data is from Plex.

  1. The data is from Plex so not a lot I can do.

  2. The same song can’t be repeated so it’s another physical file and it’s up to Plex to ignore those.

  1. The tracks are sonically based, but I am trying to understand why it disregards tracks from the compilation. Or maybe I am misunderstanding? Is the sonic analysis based on Plex or MusicBrainz
  2. I don’t believe this has anything to do with Plex. It repeats tracks randomly after a while. It feels scheduled; in that it will play various tracks, repeat a select few and then play new tracks, but then repeat the same tracks as it did previously. You can see it in the logs
  3. ok.

Sonic is 100% Plex.

You still don’t tell the kind of smart flow you use for 1)

  1. It have everything to do with Plex. Each time Symfonium ask Plex for the next songs to play.
