Replaygain applying to FLAC files but not MP3s

Issue description:

Hello, I’ve purchased this app recently and really have been liking it, I think I prefer this front end for my Plexamp library. Thank you so much for working on this project.

I have a small issue regarding ReplayGain application. I noticed when generating Personal Mixes that some of my tracks seemed abnormally louder than others. I realized that it seems to be only from the MP3s in my collection. Looking at some forum posts, it seems like people might have had an issue with APEv2 tags, so I ran MusicBrainz Picard through my MP3 library to strip those tags and retain ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags, but it doesn’t seem to have solved my problem. In the included file, two tracks were played, one MP3 and one FLAC. I’ve looked through the logs and I’m pasting what I think are some relevant lines.

[extract redacted]

Hopefully that helps, please let me know if I’m doing something wrong on my end, I’d love to get Replaygain working properly. Thank you!

You are using playback cache so the files are maybe cached, you can clear it in the advanced settings.

In the logs ExoPlayer does not see any metadata on the mp3 files.

Cleared the playback cache and turned it off completely. Cleared everything else in the Cleanup section, just in case. Still seems to not be passing metadata, it seems. I’m using the portal to send another log along with the MP3s played in that log.

Files works ok, are you sure that’s the one that Plex serves ?

Else it means it strips the metadata as it does sometimes, but it should do it for flac too.

I’ve given up on getting Plex integration working properly for this issue. I tried putting the mp3s on the device and generated the log, it looks like replaygain works fine. Plex must be somehow stripping the metadata when streaming, who knows. I just bit the bullet and installed LMS and it’s doing everything perfectly!

Yes LMS is a lot lot better if you don’t need all the fancy clients of Plex on branded TV.
