I did setup a Navidrome Server with mostly perfect tagged files. All seams to work fine except one strange behaviour. The Albums shown in “Recent Albums” are all much older. Some even from the 80’s. All my flac (98%) and mp3 (2%) do have a propper filled date tag in the YYYY format. All other date related tags are deleted (e.g. releasedate, originaldate, etc. pp). Funny part is, when I use the same files for a jellyfin database Symfonium does show them in the right sort order. Same applies when I use Navidrome + Feishin App on my Desktop. When I go in Symfonium to “All Albums” and sort based on Added I see the same sort order than given in Recent Albums view. Why is Navidrome fetching the added date and not the “date” tag itself…

Setup Navidrome and sync with Symfonium. Than head to recent albums and check sort order…
You are mixing different things here recent albums are about the date of release of the album recently added the date the album was added to your library (and that Navidrome handle specially in some endpoints but does not expose the proper data).
Remember also that there’s release date and original release date and year So an album from 1980 can have a release date of 2020 if it’s a remaster for example.
The Release Date or Original Date should not be a matter since I ripped those Albums shown as most recent some years back from CDs I bought in the 90’s. Besides that I have only the date tag in my files. No other date, year, originaldate,… is present as a tag in my files!
Can I setup Symfonium so it will only lookup the date tag? Same way Feishin handles the same files or Symfonium with Jellyfin as a backend databse?
I had to start with a new navidrome database recently, Hence the imported date from navidrome is of no help at all…
Below a screenshot where you see that Symfonium handles the date tag with jellyfin as I would expect. Since Jellyfin is very heavy on my DIY server I really would like to stay with Navidrome.
