Random works properly when beginning a session by clicking the shuffle button. It is also resolved by toggling shuffle on and off under the currently playing song.
The issue is specifically when clicking and choosing a particular song with random based shuffle.
Its odd. Its not sequential or alphabetical, but it will ONLY play songs that begin with that letter. There will sometimes be a song that begins with the next sequential letter before returning to the same weird letter restriction.
Once all songs beginning with the same letter has played, a truly random session will begin in the queue.
The logs are not very clear, but if you are in the track list view and click a track it will queue tracks sequentially via a dynamic queue to support, so if you have the option to keep the shuffle mode between sessions, it will shuffle a part of the next batch of queued tracks and will probably result in what you see.
There’s is no smart queue engaged in the logs and your screenshots.
Change the default track action to play (no automatic queue) and then the smart queue will be used.
I’m having the same issue except that smart que literally it’s worse and nothing switches out the song selection smart que chooses so it’s always the same ~20 songs that are played.
