Playlist - Manual Track Sorting - Disable on Back Press

Feature description:

Just a minor usability thing. The button which toggles the handles for Manually Sorting tracks in a playlist is at the top of the page. To disengage this mode, we have to scroll back to the top of the page to tap the button again.

Currently, “Back Button” input (device’s nav bar, not Symfonium’s icon) while the mode is engaged exits to the previous screen.

I would like for the first “Back Button” input to disable the Manual Sort mode and the second input to then return to the previous screen.

Problem solved:

Inconsistent behavior compared to other mode-toggles (e.g. Multi-select)

Tapping to play a track is disabled while Manual Sort is on (which makes sense). To return to “normal” tap-to-play mode, users must scroll back to the top of the playlist or exit the page and return.

Brought benefits:

Quicker way to disable Sort Mode when finished

Users with long playlists can exit Sort Mode without losing their position in the list

Other application solutions:

I see that Multi-Select didn’t initially behave this way either :stuck_out_tongue:

If you add this feature, the Text Filter button will be the only one that behaves differently. Personally, I feel Text Filter’s behavior should stay as-is, so that media lists don’t pop back to a zillion items every time you try to leave the page.
