Phone and Watch

Feature description:

I would like a dedicated section within the phone app settings for managing the watch companion. This should include the ability to send albums, playlists, or artists directly to the watch, with an option to select all for larger collections. It would also be helpful to allow changing the watch app icon and to provide the ability to set custom start and end times for individual songs.

Problem solved:

At present it is time consuming to manage music on the watch when you own a large library. Sending items individually is impractical and makes offline listening less efficient. There is also no way to customise the watch app icon or adjust playback range for songs, which limits flexibility and user control.

Brought benefits:

A dedicated watch management section would save time, improve usability, and make the app more attractive for those who rely on Wear OS for offline listening. Select all would help users with larger collections. Custom icons add personalisation, and start and end time controls enhance playback options for all users, not just those with niche needs.

Other application solutions:

Some other music apps such as Spotify and YouTube Music allow users to easily select entire playlists or albums and send them directly to a Wear OS watch. They also provide clearer watch integration within the phone app, which makes managing downloads faster. However, these solutions are limited because they only work with their own streaming services and do not support the wide range of media sources that Symfonium can.

Additional description and context:

The main strength of Symfonium is flexibility and support for multiple sources, which is why many users choose it over single-provider apps. Extending that flexibility to watch management would make the experience much smoother, particularly for those with larger local or server libraries. A centralised watch section in the phone app would provide a more intuitive workflow and reduce the time spent sending content piece by piece. This would enhance the usability of the companion app without changing the core philosophy of Symfonium.
