I want the option to clear all cached images for an Album and all tracks on that album with one click. Currently, I can clear cached images for the album with one click, and, single click clear the track cached images for the album.
Problem solved
I have Symfonium set to cahce all images. Sometimes my tagger will retrieve the wrong artwork for my music, and, if I sync in Symfonium the wrong artwork will get cached for both Album and Tracks. When I click clear cached images on the Album, the tracks are unaffected and will display wrong artwork. Clicking through single tracks of a large album to clear the cache is no fun, and, the alternative is to remove the album from my server, sync symfonium, and, then do resync after adding correct artwork and album back to server.
Brought benefits
Efficient clearing of cached artwork for those, who like me like to cahce images upon sync.
Other application solutions
Multi select all tracks on and album and initiate a clear cache artwork for all selected tracks.
Use the clear all cache or see with @deluan if there’s a way to have an option so that each track does not return a different cover art id if it’s the same as the album and return the album one.
There’s a setting for this: EnableMediaFileCoverArt (env ND_ENABLEMEDIAFILECOVERART). Set it to false and tracks stop returning their own cover art id, falling back to the album’s. So every track on a single-disc album returns the same coverArt as the album itself.
One catch: on multi-disc albums the fallback is per-disc, not the bare album id, so tracks group by disc instead of all collapsing to one. Single-disc albums are a clean 1:1.
Clear all cahce is not an option as my cahce is almost 30Gb and having to redownload its too time consuming, when a simple clear all image button for all cached album images would suffice.
I have set the settings already as @deluan has proposed. Symfonium will still cache the old track images though and its super annoying. So it seems my particular issue is on the client side rather than the server. I have also checked Navidrome GUI and the track images change as expected but on symfonium I need to clear on track basis which is per click. I have captured logs uploaded as “thekingpin” .
Because please correct me if Im wrong. But clearing cache on ab Album should also clear track images in symfonium right?
There’s album images and there’s track images if they are different from the album one. From what @deluan says with that option the track should have the same coverArt as the album and so clearing the album image clears all, if it’s not the case, then each track have it’s own cover and this is not a client side problem
Ok, but, then why cant we have a button “clear all track images” ? Instead of single click each track.
From my testing this is not the case. At least after I put an example cover.jpg in an album folder. Check navidrome and track and album cover are as expected, the example cover. Clearing album cache on symfonium, still leaves old image in track cover, even though navidrome gui shows the example one I just put.
Please don’t take it that way. Its not that I refuse to believe you. But, I am experiencing something different to what you tell me. You also didnt believe me with an issue I had before, which turned out to be true and not made up. But lets not get into you did that Im not making up my issues just to annoy you.
This is a valid enough reason for me. I thought it would have been an easy option to add, seeing as the clear single track cache is already there. I’m not a developer though so I didnt know. Its also not that big of an issue for me to chase it any longer. Thanks anyways.
