Navidrome over Tailscale always offline, browser works

App version

Production

Issue description

Hi,

I uploaded the logs with identifier:

Jochen_Rittmann_Tailscale

Environment:

  • Android
  • Symfonium (Production)
  • Navidrome
  • Tailscale

Problem:

Playback works immediately when connected to my home WiFi.

Outside my home network I use Tailscale.
Tailscale is connected and working.

The Android browser can successfully open:
http://Musik.tail12d793.ts.net:4533

The Navidrome login page appears immediately, so the server is reachable.

However, Symfonium always reports:
“Subsonic currently offline”

Server configuration:

Primary:
192.168.178.35:4533

Secondary:
Musik.tail12d793.ts.net:4533

Username/password are correct because WiFi playback works.

I also tested:

  • HTTP
  • HTTPS with “Ignore certificate”
  • Mobile data only (WiFi disabled)

Same result every time.

Could you please check the uploaded logs and let me know why Symfonium cannot use the secondary Tailscale connection although the browser can reach the server?

Thank you!

Device type

Phone

Media provider

Navidrome

Steps to reproduce

  1. Disable WiFi and enable mobile data.
  2. Connect to Tailscale.
  3. Open Symfonium.
  4. Try to play any song.
  5. Symfonium reports “Subsonic currently offline”.

Expected:
Symfonium should use the secondary Tailscale connection and play the song.

Actual:
The Android browser can open http://Musik.tail12d793.ts.net:4533 and shows the Navidrome login page immediately, but Symfonium reports the server as offline.

Additional information

The same server configuration works immediately when connected to my home WiFi.

Primary:
192.168.178.35:4533

Secondary:
Musik.tail12d793.ts.net:4533

I also tested:

  • HTTP
  • HTTPS with “Ignore certificate”

Same result.

Tailscale is connected and working. The browser can always reach Navidrome over Tailscale.
