### Issue description

Whenever I cast music from my Navidrome server (running as a Home Assistant Plugin) via Symfonium to my Denon X3800h, the Denon goes to auto-standby after 30 minutes. It seems like it does not recognize the streams active audio, although it is actively playing music.

Any change some Symfonium settings may help?
I’ve unselected all UPnP options except stop casting on external changes to prevent Symfonium restarting the stream.

### Device type

### Media provider

Navidrome

### Steps to reproduce

1. Open Symfonium and cast music to Denon X3800H
2. Wait 30 minutes (or shorter/longer, depending on the set auto standby time)

Since the shutdown follows the Denon’s configured auto-standby interval while music is still playing, this suggests the receiver is incorrectly detecting inactivity.

Does its display actually show “Auto Standby” before switching off? Please temporarily set General → ECO → Auto Standby → MAIN ZONE to Off and check whether playback continues beyond the usual cutoff.

Keep “Stop casting on external changes” enabled. If disabling auto-standby resolves it, compare playback using another UPnP controller and, separately, the HEOS app with auto-standby enabled again. That will help establish whether this affects UPnP playback specifically or network playback more generally. Please also provide the Denon firmware version.

Before going to standy you actually see the countdown for standby in the main screen.
I will follow these steps.
X3800h firmware: 6000-1060-0071-9831 and DTS version: 4.30.10.15.

When playing through Music Assistant (also using UPnP) it hasn’t happened yet, but I’ll check and double check this.

I did find some useful info. In the home assistant environment, neither Spotify nor Symfonium can make the Denon integration change to ‘playing’ when something is playing. But Spotify does not seem to result in a shutdown. But in the main screen of the Denon it says _TuneIn Internet Radio_, which is weird because it used to show song info via Symfonium.

I tried bubblepnp but couldn’t add my file server yet. But playing a local files via bubblepnp did not seem to result in a shutdown.

Edit: I may have solved it.

First I tried a power cycle. Did not work. Then I switched off all hdmi switching from my Epson LS650 projector) and now the title of the song is in the screen again.

Now the Heos integration in HA is showing correct data again. I cant believe how much eARC sucks!

Well I have disabled all hdmi input on the x3800 (my projector now has optical out).

However, it still happens when casting the x3800h thinks it’s inactive. I can see it in Home Assistant

I did find that toggling gapless on or off, then apply and reconnect seems to solve it as well.

Curious!

Oke, I’ve found the fix. If I turn off 'gapless support, I can see in Home Assistant that the status is “playing” instead of “idle” when playing through Synfonium. And auto standby does not trigger.

Status solved!

Hi, my Denon goes back to “inactive” after 1 or 2 songs via Symfonium. After 15 minutes, it goes to auto standby. Play pause solves it. Anything in the logs?

Name is Geertidow2autostandby.

Edit: it doesn’t happen through music assistant DLNA streams. And it does count down in the standby timer.
