one of the biggest thing that made me love this app so much is the smart playlists, they are very well designed, i use both the tracks and album smart playlists. i also use them in the home screen to create new sections that are personalized to my liking, e.g: Hip Hop tracks, which is set to random sort and gives me new hip hop tracks every refresh. which had me thinking if it would be any possible to make smart playlists to artists, playlists. that would make the home screen so much more customizatable in my opinion. especially since there’s no other way to put playlists in the home screen other than favoriting them, (favorite playlists).
Problem solved:
lack of ability to put playlists in the home screen without having to favourite them
Brought benefits:
more functionality to the home screen, as well as to the playlists.
This is what I’ve been wanting all along. Custom headers with pinned playlists underneath, giving some real control over the layout and way more personal UX
yeah i do acknowledge that actually, i even said you could put smart/normal playlists in home pages, but i meant like if there would be a way to put a set of playlist links to a section similar to favorite playlists, this would be better instead having to favourite them for the sake of putting them in home page
just to clearly, the 3 sections in the screen shot (R&B tracks, Hip Hop Tracks, and Alternative tracks) are all smart playlists, so imagine how useful it would be if there was an alternative way to do the same but for playlists
Yea thats a really neat idea and something I have also wanted. Like group playlists on the home screen. Because I use smart playlists for a collection of “recent” material, for example, recent plays, recently added etc. Having them under 1 recent group on home screen would be nice.
I’ve tried it, and it works great. However, I can’t seem to find a way to deselect playlists I’ve added to the start page. Is this function missing, or am I simply overlooking it?
yeah that would make the home page so much better, because as if now, the only way to put set of playlists in a place by favoriting them, i hope in the upcoming updates, they add an alternative way to add custom sections for playlists. even for artists, similar to smart album playlists, it would be very useful
Thanks for the quick reply, but I don’t think that’s quite right. For me, the option to add it to the start page is still unexpectedly available, and I believe it shouldn’t be.
yes, it’s super cool, despite all these features, the dev still gets so much hate for the app, i hope they can get more recognition and better feedback from others because they do deserve it.
The developer’s doing an outstanding job. He has a great sense for what belongs in the app and what doesn’t. And despite the app’s complexity, it runs impressively smooth and bug-free.
