Hello Fine Symfonium Community,
I already discovered this app some time ago, but only recently started collecting music for my own. I installed a Navidrome server and now I am looking for an app to pair it with when I am on the go. There are many apps, but to be brutally honest, they all look pretty ugly.
By default and with a little tweaking Symfonium looks very promising, but I am really papered when it comes to UI/UX since I am used to use apps like Metrolist which fully embraced Material 3 Expressive. The way this app looks and functions has left me in awe and I was devastated when I found it does not support alternative music back ends like subsonic.
Brokenhearted I turned away and now I am looking forward to Symfonium, since no other app looks as good right now or has enough features. Sadly even Symfonium with its default styles is not quite there yet in the UI department. I am just getting into Theming, and already saw some other nice themes, but currently I am rather pessimistic if it is possible to replicate the beauty of Metrolist in Symfonium with its current state.
If I get anything done myself that is share-worthy I will add it to the Themes category but I wanted to put this out here before to see if anyone besides me wants to take a shot at a Material 3 Expressive Theme that leans heavily on Metrolist’s UI for Symfonium.
Also if the Dev was to upgrade the app to Material 3 Expressive that would be even better but with this kind of change, I am even more pessimistic since such cool shit never happens. But we already have this so I am thrilled to see where it goes.
Also what interests me is how the community stands on this topic? Do you like Material 3?
