M4A chapters disappear after second playback with Google Drive

App version

Beta

Issue description

Embedded chapters in M4A files are displayed correctly on the first playback, but disappear when the same file is played again later.

The chapters themselves appear to be valid because running the cleanup actions inside Symfonium makes them appear again on the next playback. However, after playing another file and returning to the original M4A file, the chapters disappear again.

Expected behavior: Embedded chapters should remain available every time the M4A file is played.

Device type

Phone

Media provider

Google Drive

Steps to reproduce

1.Enable Debug mode in Symfonium.
2.Go to Settings → Advanced → Cleanup.
3.Run all cleanup actions shown there, including media information cache cleanup and internal state cleanup.
4.Play an M4A file with embedded chapters from Google Drive.
5.Confirm that the chapters are displayed correctly.
6.Play another audio file.
7.Play the original M4A file again.
8.The chapters are no longer displayed.
9.Running the cleanup actions again makes the chapters appear on the next playback, but they disappear again after subsequent playback.

Additional information

The issue is reproduced more reliably after running the cleanup actions inside Symfonium than by clearing the Android application cache.

The same behavior occurs on Symfonium 15.0.1 and 15.1 beta.

The files are M4A files with embedded chapters streamed from Google Drive.

Report with 15.1 final see changelog.

Still reproducible on Symfonium 15.1.0 final (127812).
I reproduced the same issue using the same steps.
I uploaded fresh debug logs from 15.1.0 final with the description: M4A chapters disappear - 15.1.0 final.

Arf thanks will be fixed forget a path when fixing the crossfade one.

Thanks for checking and fixing it. I’ll test it again in the next beta/release.
