Local database or all files cached for offline availability

I’m currently thinking how to have all my music offline available (when I’m hiking in the mountains).
Basically there are 2 options:

  • (1) Sync the music via FolderSync to my device and use the local-Database in Symfonium
  • (2) Use my selfhosted emby-Server as Database and download/cache all the files via Symfonium (Offline media cache and downloads)

Which way I should choose and why?

Of course 2 to have play counts and resume point and offline rating working and synced when back.

So best option is then to select “automatic offline-cache” for genres?
