Feature description

Increase the number of songs in a Radio mix queue when “Use similar tracks for Radio mix” is enabled (for Open Subsonic providers).

Currently, Symfonium requests a maximum of 20 similar songs from the Open Subsonic media provider when “Use similar tracks for Radio mix” is enabled, and creates the playing queue from them. This feature request is to increase Radio mix playing queue when “Use similar tracks for Radio mix” is enabled.

Ideally, the Radio mix queue should be configurable and aligned with “Personal mix size”. But a new option in the media provider settings would be acceptable as well.

Problem solved

A maximum queue of 20 songs is limiting as it will play the same 20 songs in a relatively short time when seeding from the same track. With a larger (shuffled) queue (~100 tracks), there would be more variation even if Radio mix starts from the same track.

Brought benefits

Align the mix size with the user’s preference in “Personal mix size”.

Currently with “Personal mix size” set to 100, you get a Radio mix of 100 tracks (curated by Symfonium using similar artists) when “Use similar tracks for Radio mix” is disabled, but you get a Radio mix of only 20 tracks when “Use similar tracks for Radio mix” is enabled.

I second this request. Being able to set the size would be great, because currently I’m getting very small playlists.

I can confirm this limitation with Navidrome and a custom sonic-similarity plugin. Even with “Personal mix size” set to 200, Symfonium requests exactly count=20 from getSimilarSongs, resulting in only 20 recommendations.

It would be great if this value followed “Personal mix size” or could be configured separately. Larger requests would provide much more variety, especially when repeatedly starting Radio Mix from the same song.
