I went to turn off waited random, and it seems like that feature being on is exactly what would prevent my issue

Random is very much repeating items instead of being random.

I know I do not have Logs with this, I have read The Help submission guide and I know this goes against it. The only reason why I haven’t included logs, and I’m kind of asking how do we want to go about approaching this, is because in order to run into the issue, I need to run the player probably about a week.

I moved to a new phone and reinstalled symphonium, and my provider. After playing almost exclusively by random, I noticed it was very much repeating things. I decided to remove all play counts in history from the app. After that I had a few times and days where I played a particular album a few times over. After that and going back to playing random. I have noticed that the random is almost predictable. It will play the same albums, artists, and exact songs over and over. It will sometimes choose an album, play a song from that album, go play other things that may actually be random, then play the very next song from the album. As the weeks have gone on this has drifted a little bit but it happened again today. Also I’ve noticed that repeat all is turned on an Android auto even after I turn it off. I don’t usually use the repeat setting so I don’t think it was the option to change repeat one and to repeat all when you skip.

Again, I’m sorry I don’t have the needed logs to open a ticket, I didn’t think running debug mode for a week or so, across possible reboots, would work and would be the correct thing to do. Usually I need to play the random track mix until I start to feel like I’ve heard this song recently, after that I’m a kill that session and start a new track mix and notice that I’m skipping songs because I’ve recently heard them within a day or two or at least within the last week.

Yes, track mix is not fully random. This is intended behavior.

Search the docs for the “what the random” page where this is explained.

If you want fully random selection, use the shuffle button to start playback instead of track mix. You can use Smart Flow/Queue as well to add additional tracks to the queue. Or you can set up a Smart Playlist with random track order and whatever other filters you want.
