How does automatic sync get triggered?

I’m using Navidrome, and I’ve always just done manual syncs (with the auto sync disabled via the database settings), but I recently got ionotify working on the server side, and thus automatically adding new music to the library when I copy it over. Thought I’d give the auto sync on Symfonium a try as well, but it’s been well over an hour since I added an album to the Navidrome library, and nothing has shown up in Symfonium.

What actually triggers the syncing of new music? It appears that it’s not doing whatever that is from just sitting there with the app open.

For me, every time I open the app fresh it will trigger an automatic sync.

I would never wait that long and just press the sync button.

The auto sync is cool and all but not really making my life much easier when a sync is a 2 button press option.

I kind of figured it out. I noticed that, on my phone, it was also automatically syncing as expected when opening the app. But, the difference is that the app is open all the time on my DAP, so there’s never really a time when the app “restarts” and automatically syncs upon launch. However, it will sometimes automatically sync when connecting to wifi.

And yes, there’s always the sync button… but it’s very nice and convenient to have the changes you’ve made to your library just show up on their own.
