High battery drain while closed

Issue description:

Symfonium is using a lot of battery even while closed.

I’ve not used it a lot this week, like twice and it’s used 40% out of all apps. This is with Symphonium closed. Tonight it was not open at all and it used 40% compared to all other apps.

Logs:

Elf3874

Additional information:

Reproduction steps:

Media provider:

Jellyfin

Screenshots:

The log is empty and does not cover that range so it’s impossible to say anything.

What does the battery usage say for the other apps, what does the view by system says ?

For that same coverage this is the system view

Even after disabling allow background usage, it still uses battery in the background.

Again provide logs showing that something is actually happening and your Symfonium settings.

And show the consumption of the other apps on that range

I’ve ran it in debug mode with the app closed.

Here is the apps usage

and system usage

The log is called Elf3874#3

The screenshots does not show any onscreen or background values that’s strange.

In the logs the app is killed at 9PM. The OS restart the app at 10:21PM for whatever reason. The app just init itself then do absolutely nothing after. The system audio track is not even started.

This looks like something connects to the app MediaBrowser and the OS report the system usage as the app usage.

Provide a full https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/bug-report after starting the app then put in background and waited 10 minutes.

I’ve send the debug file with Symfonium running in the background and not closed in the apps tray.

File name: Elf3874-android-debug

From the dump that covers a long time, the app did nearly not use anything.

The only thing that does not match is the time spent with a service in foreground that does not match what’s happening and the locks.

Maybe a Google Play Services bug, try to disable anonymous analytics in advanced settings and reboot the phone.
