I’m fairly certain that the reported issue from the others with their OS bug report is fixed by this. (It was tested at some point with one of them)
Basically this removes the link between Symfonium and the OS about what is playing and everything is internal to Symfonium.
So the OS have no more reason to do stupid things since it’s not aware Symfonium is playing music and what.
This break nice integration in the notification shade as media session and Android Auto and probably other things that may rely on this. But I have no other workaround for this Google bug. If I could reproduce I would probably be able to figure out if there’s something specific in what the app publish that causes this and do a more targeted workaround but for the moment I can’t.
For now I am happy with the somewhat ‘reduced’ functionality. However, I do hope you can replicate and eventually fix the issue, if Google won’t.
I expect you will be adding new features and I would like to be able to get updates. So, perhaps you could make the ‘Disable media session usage’ option available in the released versions of the app, for the few of us that suffer that issue.
Also, if you wish to try out potential solutions for this issue, or perhaps add extra logging, I am willing to provide a test bed, given that I can reliably get this to happen.
For the fix logs won’t help as it’s outside the app.
It would be tons of random shots in the dark that would take ages for both of us. Not sure I’ll go that road. The workaround will have to do.
