File sync with Samba shared drive stopping randomly

App version

Production

Issue description

I have a Samba shared drive at my local network with all my mp3 music files. I only synchronize it locally connected to my home WiFi.

The issue happens when starting Sync Manager, it connects to the drive, starts reading file tags, and then it stops at a random number of file tags checked. Every now and then it finishes the syncing process, but most of the times it gets stuck and fails the process.

Device type

Phone

SMB

Steps to reproduce

  1. Select Sync Manager and start the process.

Additional information

Looks like network error or server side security that could cut network due to too many calls. Can you check it’s logs ?

I checked the server logs and I could not find any errors, so I’ll check the WiFi router logs. Just curious, is there a way to optimize the synchronization settings that could potentially help with this situation? Thank you so much for your feedback!

There’s no settings no just need to find out what happens on your network to try to workaround.

Well, after lots of research and AI interactions to adjust/optimize the settings of my WiFi router, I can honestly say that I haven’t found a way to solve the sync issue.

Having said that, I decided to switch directions and tried using a different app to sync the mp3 files from the music server to my phone instead of doing it through the Sync Manager option and it is working fine, so I’ll keep that method for now.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I do appreciate it.
