Feature Request: Smart Playback Mode – "Chronological Artist Flow"

Feature description

I propose a new playback mode called “Chronological Artist Flow”. When a user selects a track, the app should have an option to automatically populate the queue with the artist’s subsequent songs following a strict chronological order (by release date/year), regardless of which album they belong to. It would essentially create a seamless “biographical” listening experience.

Problem solved

Currently, starting a song usually limits the automatic queue to the current album or requires manual playlist creation to hear an artist’s progression. This feature removes the friction of manual queue management for users who want to explore an artist’s entire discography in the order it was created.

Brought benefits

This would leverage Symfonium’s excellent metadata handling (specifically the Original Release Date tag). It offers a more dynamic way to engage with large local libraries and provides a unique “storytelling” playback mode that distinguishes Symfonium from other basic music players.

Other application solutions

While some players have “Artist Radio,” they are often randomized. This would be a more structured, metadata-driven approach unique to advanced players like Symfonium.

Additional description and context

This could be integrated as a toggle in the playback settings or a long-press action on an artist/song.
