Extra ways to keep screen on/awake

Feature description:

Sometimes I’d like to keep my screen on, but usually I want a standard timeout. I know there’s a setting for it somewhere in settings, but I’d really like two extra ways to toggle it:

  • as a button option in the top or bottom bar on the now playing screen
  • as an equalizer profile option (there’s one bluetooth device I have configured which I will always want to disable the screen off timeout for)

Problem solved:

Needing to navigate through settings every time you want to toggle the screen keep-alive, and forgetting to reenable the timeout

Brought benefits:

Convenience, lets me see album art in certain contexts like working or driving

Other application solutions:

Use tasker or automate or macrodroid or one of the others to automate things since that’s what you are after.

At that point, why not just remove the keep-awake setting from symfonium altogether? Tasker can keep the screen on based on the open app and whether media is playing. I don’t want to install those apps though, hence the feature request.

Even if I did use one of those apps, they don’t have a way to add a quick toggle button to the now playing screen

Yes they have ways, and as said you want to automate like the specific BT device, why not specific Wifi or if charging or or or or ….

That’s automation and there’s dedicated tools for that.

How about adding a quick toggle button that can go in the top or bottom bar?
