Expose "Like Button" API for Internet Radio

Feature description

I work in aviation and use internet radio for my shop as my personal Playlist aren’t work appropriate. Relatively often, I find tracks that I would LOVE to add, but cannot get to my phone to get the name in time.

I wanted to write a plugin for Navidrome to pull metadata from what’s currently playing and saving it to a list, but there is no option for me to hook into.

All I’m looking for is a function where hitting like on internet radio stations exposes an endpoint that sends metadata.

Problem solved

It would give function the the like button, and expand on automation for song discovery.

Brought benefits

A lot of internet radio stations pull from free or underground music. Getting passed user benefits, underground artists would get a boost on presence.

Other application solutions

Tasker automation exists for similar solutions, but rely on both apps working, specifically Tasker watching input from another app. If either have issues or fail, the process will not work.

Device type

Phone

Additional description and context

I also use this on Android TV.

I searched existing feature requests

on

Sorry but out of scope. Tasker and the API or automate or other similar tools are exacty made for that kind of needs.

Good evening,

I’m confused on what makes this request is out of scope? I understand api changes are a moderate ask, but the change I’m looking for only gives an event for liking a song. I know that Tasker and such are current solutions, as mentioned in my request, but are roundabout and inefficient compared to this implementation. That, and the function would just pull metadata it already has access to.
