Emby provider auto-switch with secondary connection does not work reliably

Issue description

Hello,

First let say I am using the free trial until April 11, 2026.

I’m using Symfonium with Emby.

What works:

  • Emby is reachable locally on Wi-Fi

  • Emby is reachable remotely on mobile data through my DDNS hostname and port

  • In a phone browser on mobile data, my remote Emby URL opens correctly

  • In Symfonium, using two separate Emby providers works as a workaround:

    • one local provider
    • one mobile provider
    • switching between them with the filter works

What does not work:

  • A single Emby provider with a configured secondary connection does not auto-switch correctly between local and remote access
  • On mobile data, the provider reports offline or does not play, even though the remote Emby URL is reachable outside Symfonium

What I tested:

  • local primary connection works
  • remote DDNS connection works in browser
  • secure and non-secure URL attempts were tested
  • two-provider workaround works
  • single-provider secondary endpoint auto-switch does not

Expected behavior:

  • one Emby provider should automatically use the secondary remote connection when the primary local connection is unavailable

Actual behavior:

  • auto-switch does not occur reliably, but using two separate providers does work

Overall:
I like the product a lot. This seems limited to the auto-switch / secondary connection behavior for Emby.
