Feature description:
Easier way to stop playback and casting.
Currently, I need to pause playback and click on Cast → local device
Problem solved:
My main issue is:
- I cast to my Yamaha AVR, then pause the playback
- after some time, the AVR will turn off (or I switch it off manually)
- Symfonium will then switch it back on (by reading it’s state, I understand, switching on is not intended) and playback starts
I understand from this thread, that the only solution is to “stop casting” but this involves a few clicks, as I need to actually “Start casting” to local device. + I need to stop playback as well.
One secondary problem is, that in the “cast to” menu, items can pop up after a second or so, once they are discovered. so sometimes, instead of hitting “local device”, a new Item to cast to pops up, so I actually don’t stop casting, but cast to a different device.
Brought benefits:
E.g. a “Stop Playing and disconnect cast” button (preferably also in the “Now Playing” Notification") would save me a lot of clicks.
Also it would increase the wife acceptance factor, because now, sometimes, she switches on the TV in the silent room, this switches on the AVR, Symfonium starts blasting Metal on the AVR, because I never stopped casting, but just hit pause in Symfonium.
Other application solutions:
I am totally open to a different solution.
Best would indeed be that after pausing, no playback is started on the AVR, until I hit play again, but I understand, this is not doable due to the manufacturers implementation of UPnP.
