Download to WearOS keeps pausing

Issue description:

A new user here. I’m not able to download a playlist (118 tracks, but I think it’s actually albums) from Android phone (Pixel 8) to WearOS (Pixel Watch 4).
It shows all albums, then each album status cycles thru “Download queued”, “Waiting before retry” several times.
Eventually, they all show “Download paused” and no obvious way to resume it.
I tried this a few times, clearing the app data and starting over. Same results.

Downloading albums one at a time works fine, so there doesn’t seem to be an issue with the connection. But downloading 118 albums one at a time isn’t practical.

A related issue when dealing with the stuck downloads.
Removing the list from downloads didn’t work. It said “Removing…”, but the list is still under Downloads. Except now the albums don’t have the “Download paused” status. So no way to restart the download. Removing individual albums from the download didn’t do anything either.
Force-stopping the app didn’t help.
The only way to clear the Downloads was to clear the app data.

What does the manage download queue shows on the settings ?

And if you resume from there?

It cycles through “Download queued” → “Waiting before retry” again.

Does not show more. Did you try to download just before taking the dump ?

If you only resume 1 song from the manage queue does it have time to show some message ?

Can you also provide proper phone logs when reproducing the issue as the first ones are empty.

How / where do you start the download of all the albums ?

Uploaded another report, taken right after the download started.

In the Download Queue, only albums are listed. If I tap on an album, there’s no option to resume the download, only to remove it from the download. So not sure how to resume just one song.

I start the download of the playlist from the Playlists.

No the queue only shows songs.

So I suppose you are trying to download an album smart playlists and that’s the cause.

Can you share your smart playlist settings so I can try to repro ?

Oh, yeah, it’s a Smart Playlist. Not sure where to find the settings. Does this screenshot help?

Ok so yes can reproduce, use a track smart playlist for now.
