I have a lot of ‘albums’ that are compilations of tracks. These are often collections of EPs or b-sides. When I create these compilations, I embed the correct cover artwork for each track, based on which single or EP it came from. With other Music playing apps, when I played this type of album, the correct artwork for each track would display on the Now Playing screen. In Symphonium, the artwork doesn’t change as the album progresses. It displays the artwork for the first song for the entire album, instead of pulling the individual artwork that was embedded for each song.
I am hoping that this is a feature that could be enabled within the program. At the very least, that a toggle could be added to turn this option on or off, based on each user’s preference.
Problem solved:
The problem is the inability to see the proper artwork for each song within a compilation of tracks from different releases.
Brought benefits:
As I see it, this program is for, and is used by, serious music lovers. I know of many people who make similar compilations/“mix-tapes”/etc, who would appreciate being able to see the artwork change along with each song as it plays. The benefit may be small, but it is a rewarding one.
Other application solutions:
I have used Black Player in the past, and this feature is native to their platform.
Thanks for your reply. I found that toggle in the settings yesterday and gave it a try, and I do get a thumbnail for each track, but each thumbnail is the same artwork, which is the art embedded with the first song (see picture).
When I’m playing the album, I’m hoping to see that the artwork changes with each track that has different cover art embedded.
For the collection of tracks in the picture, for example, there are 5 different covers associated with those 10 tracks. The cover art for tracks 1&2 is the same, then it would change for tracks 3&4, track 5 has it’s own artwork, then tracks 6&7 share artwork, 8 has it’s own, and 9&10 have their own.
I used to use Black Player EX years ago, before switching to Symfonium (which I love!). So I’m used to this being the norm in that program. I’m hoping it might be an easy change to make in Symfonium?
If you, or anyone, can think of anything else to try in the settings that I may have missed, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Ok, thanks for letting me know that I didn’t click the correct togge. However, I’m having trouble finding the setting for Prefer Track Thumbnail which you mention is under Provider Settings? I’m so sorry if I’m overlooking it…
Found it!! Thanks so much for your help. At first I thought it hadn’t worked, but then realized I had to do a Sync and now it works like a charm. Thanks again for your help and your patience in guiding my way through the menus.
