I’d love to see Symfonium support displaying custom comment-like tags (such as MYCOMMENT, MUSICJOURNAL) directly below the album or track details in the UI.
These tags are editable using tools like Mp3tag and myself as a user use it for mini music journal , notes field .
i also tried adding a description , that worked but when i edited the tag description to custom tag called Music Journal , it doesnt show it in the user interface below the album/EP . this feature would be great as i love making mini music journal . thanks
Problem solved:
making mini journal - Note taking kinda thing , when edited through mp3 tag editor software with custom tag
recall , like when i found this album or ep with the help of custom Tags like Mini Music Journal
Brought benefits:
if this mini music journal thing could be supported , symfonium just wont be a player , it will become a listening companion !!
The details is invsible right now , but if this custom tags is added , it woud be great !!
Thanks for the quick reply sir ,
i have another some questions here :
1). if i add description for one song in an album , it applys to all songs , not like if i click the song , it will show the description for a particular song !! i know of comments , but i would like to use description to show on the user interface instead of comments .
2). is there way to sort out multiple genres as i have divided lots of genres , for example i have Country genre , for that i have applied muliple Tags as Genres as Country Pop , Country Blues , Contemptory Country and a lot of tags i have applied , is there any way to add these genres into main genre and show the main Genre on the Top or like a folder called Country and then select multiple Genres inside it ? this feature makes it easy to navigate through stuff . thank you sir for the speedy reply .
i wanted this feature a lot of mini-journal in the comment section as no players support this , i can understand , atleast can you show the comments on the user interface instead of clicking the 3 dots and checking out ?
Description is for album, comment is for song, you can display the comment field in the now playing by adding it, but there’s no place to show the comment of songs anywhere else in the interface.
so will comments thing be added in the user interface in the future? i am little confused by your line , and what should i do about genres ? as i have lots and lots of sub genres and there are lots , is there any setting to create a folder and add them into it? would be cool to organize the genres properly !! thanks for the speedy reply
No comment are per song, to see them it’s 3 dots details or the now playing there’s no other place in the interface.
And there’s no concept of sub genre in tags, Symfonium offer other tags to manage things like moods, styles, track tags, that’s plenty enough to manage most neeeds.
No like i created Sub Genres with the help of Tags(mp3 Tager) such as Country Pop , Country Blues , Contemptory Country , Country Folk and still so many !! how should i organize these ? Now these show as different Genre itself in symfonium , how should i organize and dump all in the Genre Country ? Thanks
@catlover My suggestion would be to get creative with the tags you have or split them to be used with other tags available as Tolriq suggested. STYLE, MOOD & TRACK TAGS are at your disposal.
In the above photos are some of my genres. You’ll notice they have prefixes to them. This is so that they are automatically sorted & grouped in my genres page. I call these sub genres but they are of course viewed as Standard Genres in Symfonium & most players.
My genres with - are specific grouos of tracks usually by artist general vibe or time period. Put simply its a folder & I’m probably going to remove them but my last player had a terrible folder view…that was my workaround lol. In Symfonium i could just make those smart playlists instead of their own genre but ive been too lazy
The genres with ○ are for Instrumentals specifically. Sometimes I want to listen to a genere but exclude the instrumentals or quite the opposite so i gave them their own genre
& at the bottom PMO stands for (put me on) these are tracks where I’ve noted who sent me or shared with me specific songs. Its fun for me to take a trip through all the good music ive been sent.
These are some of my style tags. These also come in handy as everytag does not need to go into genres & some aspects of music might be better denoted as a style than a genre at least for me.
Keep in mind my current genres system was mostly workarounds due to a lack of additional tags. Symfonium has alot more room. It’s like moving from a dorm room to a 6 bedroom house.
