Crash when restoring backup with local media

App version

Production

Issue description

My media library is local. I made a symfonium backup, copied it and my library to the new device with a fresh install of symfonium, and tried to restore the backup. The password work, I selected to restore everything, and then tried to continue but the app immediately crashed. It also crashed when I tried opening it again. After the two crashes, I was able to open the app, but it was still in the fresh state. I then tried adding the local media source and selecting the folder where my library was (same directory as the old phone), but after selecting it via the system folder picker, going back to restore my backup, but it still crashed. I ended up needing to set up the local media provider, then go to settings and restore the backup, de-selecting the media provider from the list of things to restore. Then everything worked perfectly and I’m back up and running, so I personally don’t need anything, but I just figured I’d let you know.

Steps to reproduce

  1. make a backup of symfonium with a local media provider.
  2. on new phone with fresh install of symfonium and library in the same path as the old phone, restore backup
  3. restore everything, don’t disable any restore options.
  4. crash

Additional information

Maybe when restoring a backup with a local media provider, there could be a workflow to re-request the permissions for the library folder?

Unfortunately I couldn’t take logs because the app was at a fresh install state

I need a bug report https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/bug-report

The app already ask permission and do not crash when they are missing it’s something else.

Well, I tried setting up a fresh user profile with symfonium to try restoring the backup, but since reporting I upgraded the app to version 15.0.0 and now in the fresh install state I don’t see an option to restore the backup
