A view for the player on android TV in which both lyrics and the cover are visible at the same time. The song title, artist name, and potentially the album name as well as queue position would be nice as well. This can be in place of the current standalone lyrics view, which does not currently work well on TV in my experience.
Problem solved
When listening to music on TV, I have to choose between appreciating the cover and seeing the lyrics. This is currently impossible to achieve, as the only lyrics views either replace the album cover or open a new window that afaik does not let you put the cover on it on tv, alongside just not working well from my experience (even though it’s really great on mobile). I think that there is enough space above the song title on the left to put a cover there, while keeping the lyrics on the right. I really yearn for an aesthetic view in which all those elements that create the album’s atmosphere are present.

Chora does this by putting the lyrics on the right, cover on the left, and the song information below the cover. This is more less the view I am looking for. I’ve attached the related screenshot below.
I don’t have access to the TV version rn to check, but you should already be able to set this up. (Doing so on the TV may be cumbersome, probably better to do so on a phone and then copy the file if you can)
In addition to the usual options, if you scroll to the bottom of the Landscape NPS settings you should see a Lyrics section and a Queue section).
Phone screenshots so space is limited, but TV app should have the same stuff. It just requires you to set it up.
Note that the settings for the standalone Lyrics page apply to this section as well (for font size etc)
Reinstalled to check and yeah, all these settings are available on TV app. The Now Playing screen in your example should be fairly easy to replicate in Symfonium.
Thanks, I missed that this option is present in the landscape view! This pretty much solves what I was looking for. I still have several problems though, but I don’t know whether they fall under this discussion. First, this seems to only fetch lyrics embedded into the music file, which is a bug I will create a different discussion for. Second, I cannot find any way to customize the size of this text. I know there is a way to customize the lyrics size in the standalone lyrics window and wondered that maybe this would also affect this text, but I can’t seem to reach the settings in that window with the TV remote.
EDIT: Okay, the mentioned bug report may wait as I’m having trouble consistently reproducing it.
As far as reaching it with the remote, good luck. If your NPS has a “More Actions” (three dots) button you can go to the “Lyrics Settings” directly instead of through the Lyrics page.
It definitely pulls non-embedded lyrics as well but some providers may not always sync the lyrics with the track. There’s already an open issue or two about it.
