# Composer or Producer

Hi there,

recently I’m organizing my album collection using MusicBrainz Picard.

When I scan an album it uses producer rather than composer.

I listen to hip hop music for many years now and I know that the producer is not a real composer. He uses machines to make music and not real musical instruments and pentagrams and notes as a composer does instead.

For me they are different musical experts.

MusicBrainz Picard do this difference in tags: it distinguishes between composer and producer. But either Navidrome and Symfonium consider the composer only.

Does anyone of you put the producer in the composer tag so that I have it in the library or can I hope for a future update that reads the producer tag?

I don’t if this could depend on Navidrome, if so I could contact their support.
