Chromecast keeps disconnecting

Issue description:

I have a xiaomi android tv on which I cast music

Steps:

  • connect to the chromecast
  • play the music
  • after a certain amount of time (typically some minutes) the chromecast disconnects and the music stops
  • to start music again I need to go back to the app home screen, reactivate the connection with chromecast, play again (usually won’t start with the current track and I have to change to the next one)

Wifi connection is really strong on the phone, the TV is wired to the LAN.
No interesting logs on jellyfin.

I have this issue from the very first day I started using the app (I think 1 month ago or so), but only today I found the guts to open the issue :slight_smile:

I already gave it in the post. I started gathering logs some weeks ago, so there could be some stuff, however I faced the issue like 4 times in the past hour.

What happens on the TV ? You need to either see https://dontkillmyapp.com or the tv crash as often on Xiaomi and you need to uninstall the cast / chromecast update on the device.

ok, apparently it was the tv screensaver, disabled it and it worked flawlessly for the whole afternoon :sweat_smile:

This can be considered solved, thanks for the hint.
