Casting to google nest unreliable

Issue description:

Sometimes casting to google nest doesn’t work. It seems like a previous session got stuck because the google nest reports casting from symfonium inside the google home app, but the casting icon inside symfonium is red with an exclamation point. A workaround that I found is to stop casting from inside the google home app and then start casting again from symfonium. Most of the time it works, but it happens at least once a day.

How do you select the chromecast ? From the logs the OS changes the routes.

In all cases when the icon is red, you can just select local device in Symfonium then cast again.

I always cast using the cast icon in symfonium, but when this happens swithing to local device and back again to chromecast doesn’t work. I have to stop casting from the Google Home app.

Can you make a video of what exactly happens with corresponding logs ?

I uploaded the logs under my user name (augusto_ornelas). Another weird thing that happens is that the chromecast device is listed twice. I wonder if it’s related to the fact that I have 2 wifi access points at home or the fact that I enabled. Let me know if you need any other details.

Can you press the top I button when you have the duplicated chromecast to see their ids ?

Indeed the duplicate appears when I change access point.

Does the 2 access point use a different SSID and are not roaming ones ? Trying to repro that one.

Yeah, different SSIDs and not roaming ones.

Thanks will hide the second one as it’s not really actionable and the main issue should be fixed in next release too.
