Casting to Googke Nest Hubs

Issue description

I run a jellyfin server for music and stream to sonos and Google nest hubs. Playing on Sonos is fine. I have problems with casting to Google though and frequently have to resort to switching to local device for a few seconds or having to restart the app. Are there any other solutions? Thanks in advance.

  1. Choose Google Nest Hub
  2. Exclamation mark
  3. No sound
  4. Choose phone
  5. Play for a few seconds
  6. It might work. If not go to 4

Apologies. I’ve now uploaded a log from App filed under Hillabaloo

From the logs the connection is dropped due to route change. So there’s probably something else in your house that tries to connect to the device and stop Symfonium attempt.

There’s never a problem with connecting to Sonos speakers. i have two hubs. It happens with both. It is only rectified by playing on the phone and then reconnecting. The workaround dies the trick so far, its just annoying. I had thought it was a problem others had encountered with Google devices. Thanks for getting back.

Sonos uses UPnP not the Chromecast protocol.
