Can't cast to google nest speaker anymore

I can play audio locally but can no longer play on any of my google nest speakers

Steps to reproduce

  1. play audio locally to confirm it works
  2. “play on” google nest speaker

Additional information

this was working as recently as last week but doesn’t seem to work this week

I read Casting issues with Chromecast or UPnP | Symfonium Docs and proxy mode does work

I do have a split DNS situation; the navidrome is at Navidrome, which resolves differently from the DNS server the DHCP server on my LAN hands out than from the internet. that said, the navidrome is also accessible over the open internet, so it shouldn’t need any special handling to work…

The infamous should not :slight_smile: If you enable the proxy option and it works then it’s probably because the FAQ is correct.

Being accessible from internet and your router supporting reentrant NAT is something else.

In all cases as you probably know the app was not updated on your device during that last week, so it’s something on your network / Chromecast side.
