I sync Symfonium with my Jellyfin server and when I try to play one of my Jellyfin smart playlists, it first says, “Preparing your media, please wait.” followed by “Too many errors, stopping playback”.
I can play other Jellyfin smart playlists fine.
Device type
Phone
Media provider
Jellyfin
Steps to reproduce
Select the Jellyfin (not Symfonium) smart playlist (Post-Rock [Smart]).
Tap play all, or shuffle (doesn’t matter which)
Observe the messages “Preparing your media, please wait.” followed by “Too many errors, stopping playback”
Thanks for the report. That message tells us playback encountered repeated errors, but it doesn’t show which item or stream caused them. Could you share a debug log covering a fresh attempt with “Post-Rock [Smart]”, along with the approximate time you tapped Play? If you can identify whether any track from that playlist plays on its own, that would also help narrow it down.
I could repeat the same process and send the logs again, but I followed the instructions to enable debug, produce the issue, and disable debug immediately and send the logs. The time I pushed play would have been just seconds after I enabled debug.
Is there anything I should do to make the log reporting more verbose before I try again? Otherwise I suspect it will just produce the same logs again.
I tried playing a specific track from within the playlist in Symfonium and got the same result, it would not play. If I find the same track but navigate to it directly instead of finding it in the playlist, it plays fine.
If I try to play the track from within Jellyfin directly, it plays fine. If I try to play the track from within the playlist in Jellyfin, it plays fine.
Thanks, the new logs captured the problem clearly. You don’t need to make logging more verbose or repeat it. Jellyfin is returning “Not Found” for the item IDs Symfonium has in that playlist, including the item lookup and audio stream.
Thank you, I was able to fix it by syncing just the playlist from jellyfin. I had previously tried syncing the entire library multiple times and that did not help.
