Cannot add/change folders in local media provider

Issue description

After I upgraded to 14.1.0 Beta 1, I decided to add more files to my local folder and sync. I noticed that did not do anything right away.

After looking at my media provider settings I found out there were no folders (even though my collection was working properly).

I added my folder again and sync; again no effect. Looking at my media provider again I realized that the folder is not being saved.

Now my collection is emtpy and I cannot add any folders at all.

So I attempted adding local folders to my media provider multiple times with no luck. I’m attaching the debug file and a recording of what I’m doing.

I’m not saying this started in 14.1.0 (since my last sync was a while ago) but this is the version where I noticed the issue.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Edit the media provider
  2. Add a folder
  3. Update
  4. Go back to edit the media provider
Issue: the folder previosuly selected is gone

I found a similar issue reported some days ago but it looks like it was reported on Android auto; I believe this is a different issue.

Since you already have sync without folders, can you try to remove the provider and add it again ?

Sure. Something I just did was to remove the media provider and restore it from my backup, but I had the same issue. I’ll remove it and create it from scratch instead this time. Give me a min.

No luck, same issue adding the media provider from scratch or from an existing backup. I add the folder then I come back and nothing is there.

EI’m having the same problem with the server. Onedrive. After updating the Symfonium app to Version 14.1.0BI, the songs no longer appear and synchronization does not work. I’ve already logged in again and it doesn’t work.

Well sorry no workaround then :frowning: Will need to wait for next release, and it’s the week end + Google is slow to validate releases when I’ll be able to build one :frowning:

Just wanted to chime in I’m having the same problem. If you need any additional information I’d be happy to provide it.

No worries, we understand what being a beta tester means, thanks @Tolriq . Looking forward to get next release.

Same issue here too.

SF was working just fine, and then I’ve lost all my music, and cannot re add.

Other music players see the local music no issue.

Yep same issue - but to expand on the problem, other settings in the media provider settings don’t save. For example, the stable date added setting

I too will be patiently awaiting the next version as my media providers settings won’t save aven after deleting & re-adding

Out of curiosity will the “animated” arts be supported for local files? Is that a provider specific implementation? I can’t embed animated art so I planned to put artwork into album folders to see if that would work. Since I can’t test anything just yet I figured I’d ask & see what steps I need to take in the meantime. Super excited for this addition

Not to pile one here but -

I had to opt out of the beta, and reinstall the released version. Funny thing too, I have daily backups and I couldn’t restore any of them that were recent. I had to go back to a backup that was 7-10 days old to get back up and running.

Everything is fine now with ver 14.0.0

(Beta is full for me to get back in, so I guess I’ll sit on the sidelines and follow for a while.)

As a side note, I tried using PowerAmp for a while as I sorted SF, and man, I really do appreciate this app you have created, Tolriq!!

Dear Developer,

I installed the newest version 14.1.0B2. Now the Symfonium app remembers my music folder stored on OneDrive. But the synchronization is never complete. I have approximately 34000 music files. Symfonium reads approximately 1900 files and resumes synchronization. The Internet is normal and OneDrive is working properly. I hope the synchronization takes place completely. What should I do?

Hugs

Open a proper issue as written everywhere ?

Sorry for the inconvenience.

The app is syncing correctly so far. Already synced 17000 of the total 34000. I’m waiting to finish the synchronization and run with happiness.
