Android TV restore backup

Issue description:

Found Symfonium last night and it’s looking great so far and a huge selling point to me is the native android TV app. So I took a backup from my phone and transferred it over to my Google Chromecast with Google TV.
However, when I click the option to restore from backup it says there is no app available to do that.

Looking at the guides on here it suggests needing to have a browser installed, and it suggests Browse Here which I have installed yet it still doesn’t work. I’ve also tried opening the backup file directly in Symfonium from my file explorer app and it still didn’t register. Any tips?

The browser is needed for oauth stuff, I don’t think you can install an app if your device does not support SAF. (Try to install Google drive ?)

Google Drive isn’t on the Play Store to download. I tried sideloading the APK from my phone but when installing it says not compatible with my device.

In fact, looking at my version it says version 13.5.0 TV but from reddit I can see version 0.90 was only released 9 months ago?

I installed directly from the play store though

Yes versions are now synced with phone ones. And sorry you’ll need to configure manually for now.

As a follow up to this, on one of my Chromecasts I happened to have a differemt file explorer app installed called File Manager +. For some reason this works and triggers it. I have 3 or 4 installed on each one and none of the others did, but this one works on every device.
