It would be great if Symfonium could support accessing remote music libraries through WebRTC.
Problem solved
The idea would be to allow users to access an SMB/NAS music library remotely without requiring either a VPN (such as Tailscale/WireGuard) or exposing SMB ports directly to the Internet.
Brought benefits
WebRTC would provide a secure, encrypted, NAT-traversal connection, while the gateway could translate the WebRTC connection into SMB access on the local network.
This would be particularly useful for users who have a NAS at home and want to access their music library from Symfonium while travelling, but don’t want to run a VPN or open ports on their router.
