Add Lyricist as a recognized metadata field name.
Problem solved:
It’s common for songs to have different Composers and Lyricists. When that’s the case, I like to tag them separately. Right now, Symfonium only displays the tagged Composer, so any Lyricists who are not also Composers don’t show up in the app.
Brought benefits:
It lets anyone who tags Composers and Lyricists separately view their Lyricist tags on the album page and filter their library by Lyricist. These actions are already available and useful for Composer, so they would similarly be useful for Lyricist.

I’ve found a workaround for this–I wrote a Picard script to merge the Lyricist and Writer tags. The Writer tag appears to be displayed along with the Composer tag under Composers in Symfonium. I’ve also set it to add a tag preserving the unmodified writer tag contents, so it can be reverted in the future if this feature is implemented, but for now this at least gets the Lyricist information in the app.
I’ve similarly written a script that migrates any present Performer tags into the Artists tag; this similarly gets the information into the Symfonium app, but like with Lyricist I believe it would be useful to include Performer fields as recognized metadata fields by default without requiring a workaround.
This would be cool to see but there’s also so many supporting roles that could potentially be added. Do we add support for them all? I’ve run across tracks with.
Lyricists, Writiers, Several Types of Engineers, Mixers, Producers, Arrangers… the list continues & its even wilder when the track has a music video.
I think a sort of extension of the Artistinfo folder could be useful.This way any person(s) could be added to the tags & have whatavaer their role(s) may be attached similar to “Artist Type”. It would be nice to have all these contributors in a separate section & with this method users have a malleable way of adding them without needing constant updates or changes to what fields / roles they may be interested in.
